[So, the ending with Isra finally taking the girls and running away...are we to assume that this relates to Deya's memory from earlier in the book and that Adam was on the subway and caught Isra trying to run away with the girls and that is why he killed her?
The next scene is a Tudeh marriage gathering, a celebration which may be a front for their covert publishing activities. Fakhri calls the man for help and he carries Zarrin into the house. The novel begins without a chapter, heading, or defined character - but a female voice explaining to the reader how, “I … Faezeh, who secretly longs to marry Munis' brother, asks if it is true that he will marry someone else. Meanwhile, the Tudeh publishing room and wedding party are also raided. This tale is heart-breaking and infuriating, but it is also uplifting and hopeful. The crowd is wearing white, and Munis, now standing among them, is wearing a black chador.
Fakhri quietly makes her way to Zarrin, touches her forehead, and weeps over her body.
In fiction, the possibilities of her life were endless. Her fiance (Fakhri's old flame) thanks Fakhri and asks her to sing. Zarrin the prostitute is at a bath house. I was kicking myself for passing this one up in a previous BOTM because I saw so many of my blogging friends absolutely raving about this one.

Zarrin walks until daybreak onto a dirt road, and the rivulet from the beginning of the film appears again. I’m such an empathetic person that I really struggle seeing people treated poorly. The interior, while luxurious, is filled with dust.

It is imagining it that is difficult. Fakhri examines the house. She arrives in a fantastic field of red flowers. Munis suggests that they themselves should be outside protesting. It sounds like the dual storylines and the contrast between them was done so well.

While in Amir Khan's house following the seer's instructions, in a magical realist trope, Faezeh hears Munis' voice beckoning from the ground. Her tyrannical brother, Amir Khan, wants Munis to prepare for a visiting suitor and demands that she cook dinner for them. The Quran holds women in high regard, but the mortals unfortunately don’t.
