I will say it was an absolute treat to see Audra Lindley again as the creepy and equally mysterious Mrs. White (for those old enough to remember she played the one and only Mrs. Roper on the first few seasons of Three’s Company). Not really anything else to say.

The special effects aren’t bad though one burning head scene seems a little dated. Film #73 in my 2016 Hoop-tober (3.0) list. I will mention that as I watched Spellbinder I envisioned it as a Sopranos prequel about Tim Daly's life in LA before he befriends Christopher Moltisanti and writes the script for Cleaver. I actually really like the ending but this seems like a movie Lifetime would show as part of their “Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice” weekend right before Halloween. It's all pretty much by the numbers and the script is middling at best, but a fun cast of recognizable faces like Slider from Top Gun and Mrs. Roper make it relatively watchable.
