Closing Cost Assistance GrantVirginia Housing's Closing Cost Assistance (CCA) grant reduces out-of-pocket expenses for eligible first-time homebuyers supporting Virginia's rural markets and assisting eligible veterans. The Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) program is HUD funding dedicated to the housing needs of people living with HIV/AIDS. DHCD offers many resources to assist with housing needs.
The Council is comprised of 17 members; seven legislative members, six non-legislative citizen members, and four ex officio members. The Board of Housing and Community Development consists of 14 citizen members, including 11 members appointed by the Governor from each of Virginia’s Congressional Districts, a representative from the Virginia Fire Services Board appointed by the chairman of that board, the Executive Director of the Virginia Housing Development Authority, and the Director of Regulatory Compliance of the Virginia Building Officials Association.
